Team Members
Sara Faivre - Main blogger and originator of WTR. Founded the original Wild Type Ranch as a grass-fed beef operation 20 years ago. Degrees in Animal Science, Ag Business and Genetics. A recovering professor and founder of agricultural animal biotechs.
Ralph Mitchell - Sara's husband and operating partner for Texas. Moving into retirement with the move to WI, but will still contribute through teaching skills like welding, butchery and creative construction. An excellent cook, looking forward to feeding the team with what they grow on the farm.
Karl Faivre - Joins WTR after selling his organic hops farm in Sequim, WA. Also ran Ecoscapes, a woodland and rural property management company. Degree in conservation biology. Licensed boat Captain with years of whale watching experience.
Justin Backstrom - Passionate about permaculture and the impacts of nutritious food and healthy soils on the human body.
Brian Dougherty - Team member from Ranching for Profit School in January.
Purpose
The main reason for this blog is to chronicle our process and share what we're learning, our successes, failures, joys and philosophy. I certainly wouldn't want to try to do this alone!
